Cookie Policy
Last updated: 1 March 2026
This policy explains what cookies SafeGuard Workers UK sets, why we use them, and how you can control them. We keep cookie use to the minimum needed to run the platform securely.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your web browser. They help websites remember your preferences and keep you signed in. Some cookies are essential for the site to work; others provide extra functionality.
Cookies we use
| Name | Purpose | Type | Duration | Set by |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| sb-*-auth-token | Authentication session — keeps you signed in | Essential | Session / 7 days | Supabase |
| sb-*-auth-token-code-verifier | PKCE code verifier for secure OAuth flow | Essential | Session | Supabase |
| NEXT_LOCALE | Stores your chosen language preference | Functional | 1 year | Next.js |
We do not use advertising, tracking, or analytics cookies. No data from cookies is shared with third parties for marketing purposes.
Local storage
In addition to cookies, we use your browser’s local storage for:
- Draft report backup — an auto-saved copy of your in-progress incident report, so you don’t lose your work if you close the tab or go offline.
- Language preference — your chosen interface language.
- Onboarding state — whether you’ve completed the introductory walkthrough.
Local storage data never leaves your device unless you explicitly submit it (e.g. by submitting a report).
Managing cookies
You can delete or block cookies through your browser settings. Note that disabling essential cookies will prevent you from signing in and using the platform. For instructions, visit your browser’s help page:
